With many chronically ill patients, brain fog is an issue. You think you’ll remember what you need to discuss with your doctor, until you get there and draw a blank. *been there, done that!*
Here’s 3 things you need to take with you to every doctor visit to help keep your visit on track and productive.
- A list of all of your medications. Include not only the name of the medications, but what dosage you take and when during the day you take them. Also make note of any medications that need refills, so new prescriptions can be sent to your pharmacy.
- A list of topics you need to discuss during your visit: new symptoms, medication side effects, new treatment options, testing you may need, etc….
- Your Chronic Illness Journal which include details about any new symptoms, medication side effects, etc…. This journal would support the topics you want to discuss with your doctor from #2 above, by including more specific details that you may forget if not written down.
